The campaign recognises that type II diabetes is a societal disease. In other words, the increase that we see in the incident of type II diabetes is, in the main, a result of living in our western style society and the food that is made available to consumers.
All to often patients who live with diabetes are stigmatised and this is often unnecessary and unfair. The campaign is about applying pressure to the food industry to reduce and cut out the excessive levels of trans-fats, sugars, and salt that they introduce into to the food that they sell.
