Depression

Symptoms of depression are common in people with diabetes compared with the general population, and major depression is present in approximately 15% of people with diabetes.

Hi A|lison
All horses are fed - they have decided to join Bruno's fat class and are enjoying the lo cal mix with a little sugar beet (except Mary - I know better!)
Fay was home to the traffic was freakily quiet and I was at the yard in record time as there was no traffic at all !
How is the weight today ?

I started to reply to one of your comments last night but lost my message ! I too am blond I think - under all the grey no one would know.

You have lots of new friends on here don't you - I am gutted that I am member 99 - should have hung on to be number 100 ! typical of me that. xx

OK I am having trouble leaving comments. I am sure it's just me...My husband says that despite having colored my hair brown, I am becoming more blond (no offense to blonds :)
So I had left a comment back but lost it! Anyway, it's nice to chat with you, Alison! I hope I can answer your question!
Grave's disease is a disorder of the thyroid gland. Within Grave's disease, there exists a condition called Grave's dermopathy where the tops of the feet swell. Other than that, I am not aware of feet swelling being an issue. The concern with diabetes (specifically hyperglycemia) is that over time, the small vessels in the legs become damaged and circulation decreases. That could be a problem for your mother. The other question would be if she has any cardiac problems in addition to the diabetes. I would make sure she has socks of natural fibers that have no or little elastic in the tops to help decrease the swelling and also have her elevate her feet as much as she can shen she's seated. I hope that helps!

My dogs are Westies, Jasmine and Alley. Jazzy is 11 this year and we adopted/rescued Alley 3 years ago so we think she's about 5 or 6. They are just as sweet as they appear!

Hi Alison! Thanks for your message. I thought your profile pic was a picture of you with all the weight you've lost. I hope thats still going well. Mine has kind of dropped by the wayside at the moment, I've got so much to learn at Kelloggs I want to be able to learn faster! They have given me my first project though already which is great cos it means I can get stuck in. Hope the horse-riding is going well, and I won't forget to send some Special K! (although not sure if you can post it so may have to drop some off at some point). Take care, Kerry x

Hi Alison - great to hear from you in this very exciting new venture which I am certain is going to be a smash hit. It will be good to meet personally which I hope will be soon and in the meantime, thanks for your comments - much appreciated and I am gaining as much if not more from David as he seems to be from me. Kind regards. Ivan
