My name is David, I’m 48 years old and I live in Manchester England. For the last fifteen years I have been associated with the health care industry and have developed an interest in the disease of Diabetes. Recently a friend was telling me that she saw a newspaper article that tried to make the point that patients living with diabetes, especially type II diabetes, were solely responsible for bringing the disease upon themselves. She was very angry and upset about the article and so was I as nobody really knows how diabetes starts.  Once diagnosed we do  know that for some patients and family members it can be very very worrying and the cause of much anguish and torment because complications as a result of diabetes are severe.

My aim is to provide helpful and supportive information to patients and family members who are a part of the family of millions of people worldwide who live with diabetes.
