I think we can all remember the very moment when we first learned about diabetes. I wonder if you still remember the way you felt at that moment? Who was with you? who told you? and how was the message delivered? I wonder if looking back at that moment what advice you would have given yourself?

How useful might the combined thoughts of all our group be to those who are newly diagnosed?

We can use this thread can share our thoughts.

Never give up! is my contribution.

my first red flag were bumps on my skin(elbow) in 2002, i went to the dermatologist and he told me the bumps were from high triglycerides. he sent me for blood work, and that when the high blood sugar was high(triglycerides were 40,000(i think) cholesterol was 9000 and blood sugar was 350). i was a little worried. my sugar is now at about 100(with actos), cholesterol is 100(with zocor), and my triglycerides are 100 also(diet and zocor).
