Which meter, if any, do you use? Which one would you recommend?

Hi Carol,

I also use and like the OneTouch UltraSmart. Just out of interest how did you find out that it was the most accurate?

One the things that I can never quite understand is that if I use a test solution, the range of the test result is acceptable if it is within 2mmol/L (34 mg/dl). I would have thought that with a test solution that it should be very much more accurate than that? Is this range the same level of accuracy I should expect from my own readings because in my mind that is quite a wide range?

Sorry, questions not directed at you, just what came out as I typed :-)
Let's see, I personally use the OneTouch Ultra. However, my meters of choice and the ones I recommend are the Accu-Chek products. Mainly because you have a program available to you to install on both yours and your doctors computer.

This program allows you to use graphs/tables/journals to relay information to your doctor. All you and your doctor have to do is hook-up the meter, download the meters information, and view the results in any form to see your BG levels.
Matti Aalton-Setala from www.wristop.fi is developing a wrist blood glucose monitor that is linked to an insulin pump.

I wondered if any members of our community are using a similar device.

I have 2 meters the first is the Freestyle Lite, and my favorite is the Relion from Walmart.  The relion strips are $36.00 for 100 strips.  And the meter seems to be more accurate then my other one.
